LAWSUIT:
A Texas Company invested several hundred thousand dollars in two oil and gas projects.

FACTS:
As a result, of the representations of Chris Termeer, Billy Don Johnson, The Rieger Partnership, Brahma Oilfield Services, LLC and Black Jack Services, LLC, Zemer Energy, LLC, invested several hundreds of thousands of dollars in an oil & gas project called “The Rieger Partnership.”  That project was nearly a bust.

Also as a result, of the representations of Mr. Johnson, Zemer Energy, LLC invested several hundred thousand dollars in another oil & gas project called “Cuesta-Voss.”  That project was also a total bust.

As unbelievable as it may seem at trial Mr. Martinez, the president of Zemer Energy, LLC testified that when he questioned Mr. Johnson on the expenses for these projects, Mr. Johnson pulled out a knife and threatened to kill Mr. Martinez.

Zemer Energy, LLC and Carlos Martinez.

Chris Termeer, Billy Don Johnson, The Rieger Partnership, Brahma Oilfield Services, LLC, and Black Jack Services, LLC.

UNAMIMOUS JURY VERDICT:
After 3 years of extensive investigations, review of documents, depositions, and contentious court hearings, this lawsuit was tried before a Dallas jury.

On October 29, 2015, in a nearly weeklong trial, the jury unanimously awarded the plaintiffs nearly $1,000,000.00.  The jury found, among other things, that some of the defendants violated the Texas Securities Act, and committed fraud.  Furthermore, the jury found that some of the actions of Messrs. Johnson and Termeer were so outrageous and malicious that Zemer Energy, LLC was entitled to $75,000.00 as exemplary damages.
